They say you are what you eat but truly you are what you wear. We make our very first impression by what we wear and not by our personalities. The fashion industry today not only sells clothing but also a kind of identity: an identity that everyone can fit into perfectly. What I mean is that there are many styles of fashion and every style has its own description. Every one should find a style whose description fits them perfectly.
Moi University’s famous politician, Moses Tisa, seems to have figured out his style. The way he dresses speaks out before he even gives his speech. Even on the weekends, he never disappoints. As he walks on the streets, you’d definitely think he has a meeting to get to and that he only deals with serious issues. His dressing says a lot about him and you won’t think of stopping him to talk about less important matters.

l got a chance to walk with him along the academic highway and from that, I can confirm that we are defined by how we dress. The people along the way were not just saying ‘Hi Tisa’ but they were using respectable titles like ‘Sir’, ‘Mkubwa’ and ‘Jaduong’. Many can arguably say that his position/fame earned him the titles and not his dressing but I can confidently say his dressing contributed to him getting the position and also earned him his fame.

What we wear makes it easy for us to identify people and whether they are who we want to socialize with. Do you think you would have the same respect for a politician in a t-shirt with funny captions? or a doctor in Goth? Share your views in the comment section below.

It actually does. You can know who a person is by how they dress.

I love this and with confidence agree, i noticed tisa first through his dressing then later knew that he was the sec gen, people kinda judge us by the dressing rather than our capabilities on the frst impression

I like this article but sometimes it’s not always defines who you are but just elevates or degrades your status. Just as long as you dress to the Occasion.

Elevating your status is actually defining you.😊

I haven’t thought of that before but a second thought validates your sentiment
